The former president of the Italian food consortium Parmalat, Calisto Tanzi, has admitted to misappropriating approximately 500 million euros. Several Italian newspapers provided information concerning the case, which is to be given to Tanzi’s lawyer. Tanzi is accused of having stolen up to 800 million euros and of having falsified the company accounts since 1988.
